For my "Friday" (Sunday), I went first to the Fayetteville Senior Activity Center for an open house. The guy playing the fiddle in the foreground is Frankie Kelly. And apparently the 86-year-old is in the fiddlers hall of fame. Didn't know one existed? Me neither. I will say, however, this guy was the best damned fiddler I've ever heard.
Afterward, I went to Combs Park to hang out with the Ozark Flyers, a local R/C plane club. I really only posted more than just one photo from this for my Daddy. He's a big R/C plane (and regular plane for that matter) enthusiast, as am I. In fact, I may be going back there soon to take some lessons from the president of the club and if it works out, I'm gonna invest in a smaller plane for myself. Anywho, Daddy, enjoy! :)

Another early day
Had to start out early today for some UA football workouts. Let me just say, 7 a.m. is too damned early to be working out and even more too damned early for me to be up shooting it.
Afterward, I headed up to War Eagle for their 100-year celebration of the War Eagle Bridge.
And finally, I ended my day at the Broyles Center at UA for the announcement of a new men's cross country and track and field coach. For those of you reading this that aren't from around here, I should explain the news value here. Head coach John McDonnell retired at the end of this past season. During his 36-season tenure, his teams won 42 national championships and 83 conference championships in track and field and cross country. I don't know a lot about sports, but I'd say that's lingering on the side of a dynasty.

A little non-game post
I decided to double post from last night's game. I wanted to include a post void of baseball players from the game. And that pretty much translates to the mascots and their mischievous antics. And, yes, that's a taco leading the tricycle race. Henry the Puffy Taco is the mascot for the San Antonio Missions.

A Pair of Dives
Today, I first went to Rogers Library to shoot an advance story, however, I haven't edited anything from the take yet, so nothing from it is posted today.
Afterwards, I went wild-art hunting and found myself at the Lake Atalanta pool and shot some kids taking dives off the diving board.
And lastly, back to the Naturals. Not counting last Saturday, I haven't actually been there in a while, so this trip was actually fun. :) The Nats carried a 3-1 lead into the eighth inning when a reliever came in and gave up three runs. The game-winning run came off the play in the photo posted.

Gettin' our Kicks...
My folks are in town visiting for the week. So I took off work today and tomorrow (to give me a four-day weekend). And we set out yesterday west on Historic Route 66 (from Catoosa, Okla. to Oklahoma City).
I decided not to take a camera and if I wanted to take any pictures, I'd just use my iPhone. I hadn't really used the camera on the iPhone yet, so I didn't really know what it would do. However, I have to admit. This thing actually takes reasonable photos (in daylight, of course). The files are plenty big and the colors aren't half bad.
So anywhoo, here's a short sample of some of the stuff I got while we were gettin' our kicks on Route 66.
The last few frames are from the Oklahoma City National Memorial. I had never seen it, so I asked if we could divert from the trip for just a bit.
