LOOOOOONG day

Today was a stretched day. And due to the length of the day, I'm simply posting random samplings from the day's shoots with no details. So, enjoy.

However, I will add the following: if you have the opportunity to see Spamalot, make the ticket purchase and you won't be disappointed.

I love the road man. Did you PS the back to through it just a touch more out of focus, or is that just natural depth of field there? Also, do I see some Strobist here? It looks like it, potentially, but I could be mistaken. Gotta spill the details for the ONE photo nerd lurker. :D Everything looks great.

Thanks for the compliments, Cameron.

First off, no, I did not Photoshop the background in that photo. And FYI, I don't use PS any more than cropping, color adjustment and sharpening.

That's the depth of field that happened with the shot. Here's the details on the photo: 100mm @ f/6.3, 1/250th (70-200 f/2.8 lens).

And good eye on the strobe. It's a REALLY simple setup, though. :) I've just got a Canon speedlight (triggered by PocketWizard) sitting atop a light stand between me and the mayor just off to his left. I know I had it set on manual and I think I had it somewhere between 1/4 and 1/8 power.

yes sir, yes sir. I don't even own PS, because I refuse to pay that much, knowing that I would just use it for cropping, color adjustment and sharpening. LOL

It is AWESOME that you got that much depth out of f/6.3! WOW!

I LOVE my 580. I do the same thing. I guess no umbrella here, just bare flash? I do the same thing. Put the 580ex on a Manfrotto Nano Stand, use a Westcott shoot-through, and trigger it with a..... uh..... Poverty Wizard. : )

Loving the blog.

Jason, Nice pix of Julie Inman. I got to watch her play for six years in jr high and high school at Carlisle. We both have the same alma mater.

Her aunt is a photographer I've trained over the years. She does a really good job now.
